Rex-Livingston in Katoomba presents Selected Stockroom Works + Secondary Market Art.
An eclectic exhibition featuring a very collectable 1963 Marea Gazzard ceramic vessel, an early 1946 Roland Wakelin, ‘Australian Landscape’ from the estate of Ena Joyce, a set of 21 small John Edwards paintings and 4 medium works exploring ‘Captain Thunderbolt’, plus new artworks by Jude Rose and Celia Morgan amongst others.
Further, we have a number of new oil paintings by well-known Blue Mountains artist - David Robert Hill, based on local vistas and mountain scenery. These works coincide with the inaugural Hill Painting Prize held at the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre from 8 Aug – 20 Sept. The inaugural Hill Painting Prize is a celebration of the natural landscapes, urban spaces and manmade environments of the Blue Mountains, captured through the medium of painting. Benefactor David Robert Hill has been an active member of the Blue Mountains arts community since the 1980’s and is well-known for painting vibrant landscapes and still life.
